From 21 to 28 April, dr Jarosław Marek Spychała was visiting the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU in Barcelona, Spain – pictured from left: dr Swen Seebach (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance), dr Jarosław M. Spychała and Małgorzata Śmigała (Director of the International Relations Office).
As an important part of his visit, Dr Spychała taught two courses, consisting of workshops and lectures: „The ancient roots of artificial intelligence.” (in Spanish: Las antiguas raíces de la inteligencia artificial.) and „Artificial intelligence and social capital.” (in Spanish: Inteligencia artificial y capital social.). The experiences from these classes will enrich the classes that Dr Spychała will teach in the upcoming 2024/2025 semester.
It is worth recalling, the Universitat Abat Oliba CEU is a private university and it was founded in 1973 as the Abat Oliba College. In 2003, the Parliament of Catalonia approved its conversion to Abat Oliba CEU University. The university adopts the name of Abbot Oliba, Count of Berga and Ripoll, bishop of Vic, and founder of Montserrat.
The UAO CEU has a tripartite structure of three faculties: the Faculty of Law and Business, the Faculty of Communication, Education and Humanities and the Faculty of Psychology. The university offers undergraduate, master’s and postgraduate degrees in the areas of Communication, Law and Political Science, Education, Business and Economics, Humanities and Psychology.
Next year, the first students from our universities will come on exchange in the framework of the ERAZMUS programme.
